Audi A3 (8V) – Compass display on ODB (Coding)

Purpose: Allows you to display a Compass on the ODB if you have GPS navigation (NAV) and to modify its position on the meter.

Proceed:
1 – With the engine off and the ignition off, connect your official VAG-COM VCDS cable to the computer and then connect the other end to the diagnostic socket of your vehicle.

2 – Switch on the ignition and then start the VCDS program.

Line 1:

3 – Click on “  Select  ” then click on “  17 – instruments ”.

4 – Click on “  Coding – 07  ” then click on “  Long Coding Wizard ”.

5 – Choose the byte “  10 ” 
Then check the Bit “  6 ” 

 

Line 2 (If line 1 unavailable):

3 – Click on “  Select  ” then click on “  17- Instruments  ”.

4 – Click on “  Adaptation – 10  ”

5 – On this page, at the very top, there is a drop-down menu. In this drop-down menu, choose the channel “  Navigation / Compass  ” / “  Navigation / Compass ” 

6 – In the “  Value:  ” option choose “  Enabled  ”

 

Line 3 (to change the compass position on the ODB):

3 – Click on “  Select  ” then click on “  17- Instruments  ”.

4 – Click on “  Adaptation – 10  ”

5 – On this page, at the very top, there is a drop-down menu. In this drop-down menu, choose the channel “  Compass indicator  ” / “  Compass indicator ” 

6 – In the “ Value: ” option   choose the desired value for the compass position on the ODB (default: lower position)
