SSP 171 – Anti-lock Braking System (Teves) 20Gi with Electronic Differential Lock (EDS)
The latest-generation Teves ABS system includes EBV (Electronic Brakeforce Distribution) as well as EDS (Electronic Differential Lock), where the EDS function is equipment-dependent.
The EDS function is essentially based on the previously proven ABS system.
The hydraulic unit and the control unit form a single assembly.
The following components are assigned to this new unit:
Electric hydraulic pump
Hydraulic unit
Control unit for ABS or ABS/EDS
Unlike previous designs, this new unit is not flanged to the master brake cylinder with the brake booster, but is installed separately near the master brake cylinder.
The ABS with EDS can be identified by a longer hydraulic unit compared to the ABS without EDS.
