SSP 118 – Golf Cabriolet: Electric-hydraulic roof operation

The convertible roof mechanism operates only when the ignition is switched off and the protective cover is removed. The roof is opened or closed using a button in the center console.
When activated, a pump located in the trunk is switched on, which pumps hydraulic oil through hoses to the hydraulic cylinders.
The piston rods retract to open the roof and extend to close it.
