SSP 104 – 4-speed automatic transmission 018 in the Audi V8

INDEX

For this demanding vehicle class, a new 4-speed automatic transmission for all-wheel-drive technology was developed.
In terms of gear ratios, the 4-speed automatic corresponds to a conventional 5-speed manual transmission.

The technical layout of the drivetrain for the Audi V8 largely corresponds to that of quattro vehicles; however, in addition to the automatic transmission, all locking functions have also been automated.

The torque converter is equipped with a multi-plate clutch which bridges (locks up) the converter slip in 3rd and 4th gear.
