By offering a turbo-diesel engine with intercooling, the trend toward powerful and fuel-efficient diesel engines is being addressed. Advantages compared to the turbo-diesel engine without intercooling lie in better acceleration and a higher top speed. Greater elasticity and better pulling power, even in the lower RPM ranges, provide this new engine with even lower fuel consumption under the same conditions.
