In this Self-Study Program, you will be introduced to the 2nd generation of the automatic air conditioning system. The new air conditioning system is consistent with the previous version in many respects:

Operation is performed via pushbuttons.
The blower speed is regulated automatically. If the difference between the selected and actual interior temperature is high, it runs fast. Once the target temperature is reached, it runs slowly.
Reaching the selected interior temperature is regulated automatically through cooling or heating.

These are the most significant innovations:

The customer has an additional, comfort-oriented “BI-LEV” function.
A flashing LED indicates a failure of the temperature control system.
The electronics control and regulate on a digital basis. This allowed for the inclusion of an emergency run function (limp mode).
This is a necessary prerequisite for the introduction of the diagnostic system—a decisive aid in fault diagnosis.
The switch for the heated rear window is no longer integrated into the control unit.
