The Torsen center differential is a new design and will be installed in the new Audi 80 quattro and Audi 90 quattro from model year ’87. It is intended as a center differential and replaces the previous version with a manual lock. For the rear axle drive, a speed-dependent differential lock is used. This means in terms of driving dynamics: Ο It is switched on manually and switched off depending on speed.
