SSP 067 – Golf 1984 Carburetor 2E2 and Carburetor Keihin 26 30 DC
INDEX
The 2E2 carburetor with a 4-point pull-down (vacuum) unit enables an idle speed increase through corresponding control.
In vehicles with automatic transmissions, the 1.6 L and 1.8 L engines are equipped with a carburetor that increases the idle speed as soon as the engine is loaded at idle by engaging a driving gear.
For 2E2 carburetors with a 4-point unit, the basic functions of cold start, idle, and overrun fuel cutoff are essentially the same as described in the Golf ’84 Self-Study Program. What is new is the increase of the idle speed under load via the control valve for idle speed increase.
With the Keihin carburetor, the throttle valve is adjusted accordingly when the load at idle increases by engaging a driving gear.
