The 5-cylinder diesel engine is optionally available for the Audi 100. It can be identified externally by the “5 D” emblem. This vehicle is particularly economical in its class.
With the smooth-running 5-cylinder diesel engine, high average speeds are achieved while maintaining exceptionally low fuel consumption.

Like the 1.5-litre diesel engine, this engine operates using the swirl-chamber process.
