Audi A1 (8X) – Adaptation of LED rear lights (Retrofit) (Coding)
Purpose : Allows you to adapt the rear lights of the Audi A1 8X after
switching from the halogen version to the LED version. Retrofit)
Proceed:
1 – With the engine off and the ignition off, connect your official VAG
COM VCDS cable to the computer and then connect the other end to
the diagnostic socket of your vehicle.
2 – Switch on the ignition and then launch the VCDS program.
Line 1
3 – Click on “ Select ” and then click on “ 09 Central electrical
system ”.
4 – Click on “ Coding 07 ”.
5 – Select module “0” and click on “Long coding assistant”:
6 – In the window that appears, select
Byte 18 : (edit in hex box)
6E = Front halogen, rear LED
6F = Front halogen, rear LED (tail lights come on with DRL
72 = Front xenon, rear LED
73 = Front xenon, rear LED (tail lights come on with DRL
7 – After this manipulation, click on the “exit” menu
Then validate “OK”

Would you like to retrofit the LED rear lights on your Audi A1 8X? This
means that the combined adjustment of LED daytime running lights at
the front and activated rear lights is even better. You can easily carry
out the retrofit yourself or have it carried out by a professional:
Pre-facelift LED tail light:
Left: 8X0 945 093 E

12x pin: 000 979 131 EA if required
LED Rear Light Facelift:
Left: 8XA 945 093 A
Right: 8XA 945 094 A
2x connector: 1J0 972 723
12x pin: 000 979 133 EA required
New sockets on the vehicle side are required for pre-facelift and
facelift. New pins, however, only when converting to facelift, when
converting to pre-facelift LED, the old pins are suitable. Pin
assignment for the LED as follows:
Left connector pinout:
Pin 1: brown
Pin 2: black/yellow
Pin 3: green/yellow (gray/green)
Pin 4: black/white
Pin 5: black/blue
Pin 6: gray/white
Straight connector pinout:
Pin 1: brown
Pin 2: black/purple
Pin 3: green/yellow (gray/green)
Pin 4: black/green
Pin 5: black/blue
Pin 6: gray/white
