The Infrared Remote Control

Opening:

  • Unlocking of doors, trunk lid, and fuel filler flap

  • Disarming of the anti-theft alarm system

  • Switching on the interior lighting

  • Activation of seat and mirror memory (from model year 1992)

Closing:

  • Locking of doors, trunk lid, and fuel filler flap

  • Arming of the anti-theft alarm system

  • Control of comfort closing
    (windows and sunroof are automatically closed)

Overall Concept:
All individual functions are combined in a single control unit (with a vacuum/pressure pump).
The complete system also includes the IR transmitter in the key and IR receivers in both B-pillars.

Advantages – Improved Comfort:

  1. No locking problems in the dark

  2. Trouble-free opening when locks are frozen

  3. No paint damage

As a result, the lamp previously integrated into the key is no longer necessary.
