SSP 115 – Traction Control System (ASR)

INDEX

The traction control system modulates the drive torque when the wheels begin to spin, ensuring that vehicle steerability is maintained while providing good traction.

The system detects the “excess torque” applied at the wheels and reduces it by controlled closing of the engine’s throttle valve via a servo motor.
In this way, wheel spin is prevented especially during uphill driving on sand, on snow and ice, and on wet road surfaces.
