SSP 105 – V8 engine
INDEX
The goal of Audi’s engineers was to develop an engine for the new Audi V8 with a large displacement and effortless power delivery, while keeping weight as low as possible and dimensions compact.
The concept of an eight-cylinder engine with a V-shaped cylinder arrangement provides ideal conditions for installation in vehicles with a short engine compartment.
With a large number of technical innovations, Audi has significantly advanced the development of the V8 engine. The new V8 engine represents state-of-the-art technology for high-tech power units.
With an output of 184 kW (250 hp) from a displacement of 3.6 liters and a maximum torque of 350 Nm at 4,000 rpm, this engine offers high power reserves, elasticity, and smooth running that are matched by only a few sedan engines worldwide.
