With the new 1.8-liter engine, Volkswagen offers a sports engine at the forefront of technology.
The increase in power and the excellent torque characteristics are achieved mainly through the use of the mechanical G60 supercharger.
The basis for the 118 kW (160 hp) G60 engine is the proven 79 kW GTI engine with a displacement of 1.8 liters.
In this new engine, mixture preparation and ignition are handled by the fully electronic engine management system Digifant.
