SSP 081 – Anti-lock Braking System (Teves) in the Golf

INDEX

The anti-lock braking system from Teves is being installed in the Golf for the first time. In this anti-lock braking system, the energy supply, brake actuation, brake booster, and anti-lock control are combined into one unit. Due to its compact design, it requires no more installation space than a comparable vacuum brake booster with a tandem master cylinder.

The energy supply for the hydraulic brake boosting is provided by an electrically driven hydraulic pump via a pressure accumulator. The anti-lock control functions according to the dynamic inflow principle. This principle allows the solenoid valves to be controlled directly in the brake circuit and lets excess hydraulic volume flow back into the reservoir without pressure. As a result, the brake pedal only pulses slightly during anti-lock regulation.
