The second generation of stop-start systems—the STOP-START AUTOMATIC—is a comprehensive new development that brings significant progress:
The driver only needs to switch on the Stop-Start Automatic; everything else then happens automatically. Using the Stop-Start Automatic does not change the vehicle’s operation compared to vehicles without the system.
Optimal fuel savings are achieved through the automatic engine shutdown during stops—under certain conditions.
The Stop-Start Automatic is offered in Golf, Passat, and Santana “Formula E” models.
